Achieving UNI/Pdr 125:2022 Certification and Hosting the “Poter contare” Event with Filomena Lamberti in Viggiano

On November 11, 2024, Maersk H2S Safety Services Italia Srl proudly received the prestigious gender equality certification, UNI/Pdr 125:2022. This certification, supported by Italian law and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aims to bridge the gender gap in the labor market and enhance social cohesion.

The certification process evaluates 33 indicators across six key areas: Culture and Strategy (15%), Governance (15%), Human Resources Processes (10%), Growth Opportunities (20%), Pay Equity (20%), and Parental Protection and Work-Life Balance (20%).

In line with this achievement, Maersk H2S Safety Services Italia Srl is committed to ongoing training and awareness programs for employees, clients, and suppliers to promote gender equality. To further these values, the company hosted the “Poter Contare” event at the Assoil School in December. The event featured contributions from APS Spaziodonna and a powerful testimony from Filomena Lamberti, who shared her experience of surviving an acid attack in 2012. Lawyers Adele de Notaris and Paola Pesce, volunteers from APS, presented Filomena’s story.

Since 1978, APS has been supporting women victims of gender violence in Salerno, providing empowerment, psychological, and legal assistance through the Linearosa project. Over the past 46 years, APS has addressed various social needs, from employment to education and women’s healthcare.

During the event, Dr. Giuseppina Scarpitta, a member of the UNI/PdR 125:2022 Maersk H2S Safety Services Italia Srl’s Steering Committee, explained the certification details. Psychologist Dr. Caterina Cerbino discussed gender stereotypes and psychological violence, highlighting available services in Basilicata, including listening centers, shelters, anti-violence centers, and the Listening Center for Abusive Men in Potenza.

Dr. Rossana Briglia, Medical Director at PSA AOR S.Carlo and founding member of OIKOS social cooperative, emphasized the need for more data and support services in the Val d’Agri area, encouraging discussions on how to better assist women in leaving violent family environments.

“Achieving gender equality certification is a significant milestone for our company. It reflects our commitment to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, starting with gender equality and reducing inequalities. Since January 2023, we have also implemented a second-level supplementary agreement with trade unions, supporting parenting, work-life balance, and individual rights,” said Rocco Carone, General Manager of Maersk H2S Safety Services Italia Srl.
